Meet Don Hiser
I started in the locksmith industry in spring of 1994, I owned a construction
company in the late 80's and early 90's. I was in an automobile accident in
1991 which lead to a back operation and at the conclusion of this episode
of my life my doctor told me I could no longer work in that type on industry
and would need to change careers.
Most of my early education in this field came from jumping in head first and
figuring things out, along with drawing on the knowledge of a friend in the
industry who helped with my direction.
I am an active member of GHLA, TLA, ALOA, HGCAA and a past member of LASA,
ALNT, IAIL. This is my fourth year on the GHLA Board. I currently serve my
second term as President of GHLA. I was also on the TLA board for 2010 I served
as Parliamentarian, I am also on the LAC (Legislative Action Committee) for
TLA, I also am on the LAN (Legislative Action Network) for ALOA.
My experience over the past 17 years has been varied; in the first six years
in the business I did a fair amount of automotive with sprinkles of commercial.
Because of the changing of the times I had to adapt and focus more on commercial.
