Meet Steve Stanhope

I became interested in locksmithing while I was a fireman in Houston, TX. I signed up for a correspondence course and learned just enough to make me want more.
When we moved back to Amarillo, TX I went to work for the largest locksmith shop in the area.

I am so glad I did. Rex Cole, owner of the shop taught me more than I could have ever learned any place else. It was his great joy to set higher goals than I thought I was ready for then beat me at the game.

After Rex sold the shop I went to work on my own. I didn't know how to figure pricing or marketing. I had to have a full time job to support my locksmith hobby. After several years with full time job and part time after hours calls I went to work for another locksmith shop. I was soon doing mainly safe work. I started my own home based business in 2001. I worked with experts in the field and developed a steady income. I still had a lot to learn. I've taken several very good classes through TLA and ALOA. The business is growing and hard to keep up with most of the time. We opened a retail store in 2010. My wife and I own and operate Alpha Lock Amarillo, Inc. We've been married almost 41 years and have 3 children, and 6 grandchildren. The spouses of our children are like our children as well.

And life is still good!
