Troy Maynard
I have worked in the trade since 1985, I started working for free for a man
that would become one of the best friends I ever had. It took him awhile to
understand why I would work for free.
He always said I was nuts, but I told him I'm not working for free
I'm
getting a free education!! I went from working for free, to his shop manager,
then to his GM, and finally GM/VP of the company. After several years of working
with him, he was killed in a wreck.
At that point I used the name of the company my best friend and mentor had
and started Advanced Lock & Key Service. Just a few years back we changed
the company name and logo to Advanced Lock Solutions, Inc.
I have a great group of people that work with my wife and I in our shop in
Austin, TX. My son is a second generation Locksmith that I am very proud of.
You always want your kids to be better than you; well my son passed me up
a few years back. On the technician side of the business, he has been in and
out of the shop with me since he was 8
. he's now 26.
I have also enjoyed all the years on the board of TLA and working for the
members. Come to think of it
. maybe I do just like working for free.
Seriously, I truly do love it. I have had the opportunity to make several,
very good friends over the years in the trade that I have a very strong passion
for.
