Position Summary
PURPOSE: To provide the Hospital with the technical skills and abilities of
a Locksmith and apply them as a service, to the Security operation of the Hospital.
KNOWLEDGE: A mechanical inclination and knowledge of basic Locksmithing is required.
SKILLS: Skills and abilities needed for this position are as follows: intermediate ability to operate assorted hand tools, both electrical and mechanical. A working knowledge of machinery used to create keys, i.e., cutter/grinder, gauges, and other peripheral devices related to lock and key creation. The ability to work with Sargent Band commercial grade locks and keys, as well as several other brand name commercial components, is preferred. A working knowledge of Microsoft products (software) is required. A working knowledge of Sargent KeyWizard software, Code Source key coding software is preferred.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: The formal education normally
associated with complete satisfactory performance in this job is a certification
in Locksmithing. Locksmithing experience is preferred with a minimum of 2 years
general commercial building maintenance experience required.
