MEMBERSHIP To be eligible for Regular Membership in the Texas Locksmith Association, the applicant must be at least eighteen (18) years of age, be an owner or manager of a locksmith shop, or a locksmith actively engaged in locksmith work. The applicant must be able to show that he has received training in this profession either through an accredited school or through on-the-job training by an accredited locksmith. The applicant shall have been without a record of a felony grade offense for a minimum of five (5) years and have had all voting rights restored. In addition the applicant shall be deemed unacceptable if under current or on going investigation by any law enforcement agency for any felony. The applicant may also, at the discretion of the Board of Directors, be deemed unacceptable for membership if he has been censured by a quasi-governmental body, such as a Better Business Bureau, for unethical practices or conduct. Apprentice Membership is available to those individuals who meet all requirements for regular membership except for age and training levels. Applicant must not have reached the age of eighteen (18) years on their last Birthday and must be at least twelve (12) years of age. Associate Membership is available to qualified individuals or business firms approved by the TLA Board of Directors. An application form must be filled out in its entirety and returned to the Membership Chairman along with the following items: Passport Size Photo Business Card, Letterhead or Telephone Book Ad Payment of Fees
